The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Bideford Town Council are delighted to announce their programme for the Jubilee celebrations.

With a National Beacon Lighting event planned by the Queen’s Pageant Master on Thursday 2nd June 2022, it was decided to make this the day for all the events, daytime and evening.

The Tourism Committee, headed up by Councillor Mrs Jude Gubb, started making plans and brought Lucy Lowe from South West Event Management Solutions in to take on the challenge of organising Bideford Fair.  Leaving the evening events to the Tourism Committee. 

Councillor Mrs Jude Gubb is very pleased with how plans have been going, she said “We have a great day and evening lined up and everyone is starting to get warmed up for the festivities.”  She added “We want to make this a day for everyone to remember, especially as it holds great historical significance for us as a Nation – 70 years as a Monarch is something to celebrate. It is also something we will not see again for generations, if at all ever!”
