Bideford Businesses: Transform with Torridge

Exciting opportunities await Bideford businesses as Torridge District Council unveil the second phase of the Town Beautification Scheme. This initiative provides grants for structural or decorative improvements, offering a chance to enhance the appeal of your shop or business.

Highlights:

  • In 2023, £18k across 24 applications transformed Torridge businesses, creating five new jobs.
  • Phase 2 expands focus to gateways into town centres for comprehensive community uplift.
  • The UK Shared Prosperity Fund funds this Scheme and provides grants up to £1000 with a 50:50 funding arrangement.
  • Eligible projects include window and door replacements, new signage, and more.

How to Apply:

  1. Business must be located in Torridge towns: Bideford, Northam, Westward Ho!, Appledore, Great Torrington, or Holsworthy.
  2. Only independent businesses with ground floor, street-facing frontage are eligible.
  3. Apply directly – no agents or consultants. Previous grant recipients need not apply.

Timescale:

  1. Launch date for the scheme on January 10, 2024.
  2. The application deadline is February 7, 2024, at noon.
  3. Successful applicants will be notified by February 14, 2024.
