Unit 5, Pannier Market
Twitknits started trading in Bideford Pannier Market in 2013 with one stall. Originally run by Elise and Tricia, it went from strength to strength until Elise retired at Easter 2018. Following which, Tricia moved into one of the craft workshops (Unit 5) in the Market Hall in addition to the stall, where she can be seen knitting most days.
Twitknits sells various knitted items, including the practical, such as tea cosies, egg cosies, and keyrings and novelty articles such as knitted breakfasts, pasties and cakes. The knitted food started by accident, like a lot of good ideas, when it was on the stall with some tea cosies, intended to be for display only. When someone wanted to buy it for children's play food, it quickly became obvious that maybe it would be a good addition to the range.
Various knitting yarns, in a variety of colours and weights (ie 4 ply, double knit and chunky) are also stocked at very competitive prices, together with knitting needles, crochet hooks, patterns and other knitting accessories.
