Alabare Christian Care and Support Bideford

Alabaré provides supported housing for homeless adults who need support to move into independent living, and floating support to adults living in their own accommodation, to prevent homelessness.

In Bideford, Charis House provides accommodation for 9 people who are homeless and have complex needs as a result of previous life experiences. There is also a 3 bedroom house that provides low level support for people who are ready to move into their own independent accommodation.

When you arrive at Charis House, you will be allocated a key worker, who will work with you to assess your needs within a support plan. This will create an action plan, which will identify priority needs, and you, with the support of your key worker,  will work on each area during your stay. We will help you master the skills you will need to manage your own home, such as budgeting, shopping and life skills. We will also offer healthy eating advice and develop your cooking abilities.

The houses are located within walking distance of Bideford town centre, providing access to the local council benefits office, the job centre, and doctors surgeries. The bus stops are within walking distances allowing you to have regular access to Barnstaple, which has more shops and a college.

Our floating support service helps adults, and families, in private tenancies and social housing, who are threatened with homelessness, address their issues and help resolve them, this support is also offered through a support and action plan.
